Testing day!

After weeks and weeks of clouds and rain (even more then is common in a Dutch spring), today there was sun! Finally we could finish the prototype of the big Light Catcher we want to use in the CafĂ© Solaire.

Rick got busy with fixing the mirrors, and around noon we started. Anna inmediately nick-named the solar oven the Diamond Light Catcher, because of the shape of the mirrors. It was great to see a working result after all the work we have put into it.

Today we reached a temperature of 140 degrees celcius. This was after a lot of moisture vaporized, which was still present in the oven after the last very wet days. The temperature is still a bit to low, so we're going to make some inprovements on this prototype. We keep you posted on this.
