After weeks
and weeks of clouds and rain (even more then is common in a Dutch spring), today there was sun! Finally we could finish the prototype of the big Light Catcher we want to use in the
Café Solaire.
Rick got busy with fixing the mirrors, and
around noon we started. Anna inmediately nick-named the solar oven the
Diamond Light Catcher, because of the shape of the mirrors. It was great to see a working result after all the work we have put into it.
Today we reached a temperature of 140 degrees celcius. This was after a lot of moisture vaporized, which was still present in the oven after the last very wet days. The temperature is still a bit to low, so we're going to make some inprovements on this prototype. We keep you posted on this.
